In order to create a new situation of talent cultivation through practical education, and solidly promote the theme of education "heavy practice" requirements to see the effect, on the afternoon of July 24, the 18th National University Students Intelligent Automobile Competition East China Competition was successfully concluded. More than 350 teams from 77 colleges and universities with about 1,200 students participated in the East China Competition. Six teams of 22 students from School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering won two first prizes, one second prize and three third prizes in the 18th National Intelligent Vehicle Competition for College Students in East China, which is the best achievement in the history of our school.
The National Intelligent Vehicle Competition for College Students is a creative science and technology competition aimed at strengthening students' practical and innovative abilities and cultivating team spirit, which is organized by the Automation Teaching Guidance Committee of Colleges and Universities commissioned by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, and is on the list of the National Colleges and Universities' Discipline Competition. With the guiding principle of "based on cultivation, focusing on participation, encouraging exploration, and pursuing excellence", it encourages college students to make comprehensive use of multidisciplinary knowledge to propose, analyze, design, develop and research on the mechanical structure, electronic circuit, motion control, and development and debugging tools of the intelligent automobile, which is an important platform to stimulate the interest and potential of college students to engage in scientific research and exploration. The automotive practice base of our college actively selected and formed the team, under the guidance and help of teachers such as Huang Xiaozi, Zhang Ruoping, Yue Min and Ma Xipei, the team members actively prepared for the competition, studied hard and improved the program continuously. During the competition, the team members flexibly dealt with the unexpected situation in the intense competition, timely adjusted the intelligent car model hardware failure and software program, and played the best state. In the end, they won the first prize in the cyclocross and complete model categories; the second prize in the unicycle category; and the third prize in the electric energy relay, negative pressure electromagnetic and rapid cross-country categories. A small car on the field carries the blood and love of the participating team members, and behind the competition results is the figure of their countless efforts in the laboratory. The team members were calm, collaborative and orderly, and showed vitality and confidence in the face of challenges, which fully demonstrated the vigorous power of young college students to innovate and stimulate youth.
